Responsible Tourism Policy
Travelling in a way that protects wildlife, people and place.
We believe that great travel should leave wild places wilder and host communities stronger. This policy outlines the practices we follow and ask our travellers to share.
Wildlife protection
We follow strict no-off-roading rules in core protected areas, keep respectful distances from animals and never bait, feed or harass wildlife. We support anti-poaching initiatives in the parks and reserves we visit.
Environmental conservation
We minimise our impact through fuel-efficient routing, careful waste management and partnerships with eco-certified camps and lodges.
Respect for local communities
We pay fair wages, employ local guides and porters, and visit communities only with their consent and on terms that benefit them directly.
Ethical photography
Always ask permission before photographing people — especially children — and respect a refusal. Avoid paying for photos in ways that encourage begging.
Sustainable tourism practices
- Preference given to community-owned and certified eco-camps.
- Local sourcing of food and crafts wherever possible.
- Capacity-building and training for young Tanzanian guides.
Plastic reduction initiatives
Reusable water bottles are provided on safari and refill stations are available in vehicles and lodges. Single-use plastics are banned in Tanzanian national parks and on Zanzibar.
Community support programmes
A portion of every booking supports the schools, women’s cooperatives and conservation projects we partner with across Tanzania.
